Sometimes I forget what a Wonder Lacey is.  Sometimes I forget how much Phillip truly loves her.  Sometimes I forget how much she has helped us, how much Phillip has changed because of her, how much easier she has made life.... Sometimes I forget. 

Sometimes - I'm reminded - when Phillip goes to bed and says "Lacey" - not "Mommy" or "Daddy", Not "Meme", or "Tory"... But "LACEY".... and I know that he's asking for his best girl to be by his side.  Sometimes I'm reminded....like when Phillip has NEVER let anyone get an accurate blood pressure on him - and the day that Lacey is in the Dr's office with him - the nurse gets one - FIRST TRY!  Sometimes I'm reminded - like on the days that Phillip doesn't feel good and Lacey barely leaves his side.  Sometimes I'm reminded - when Phillip FINALLY learns to PET Lacey - instead of just standing near her. 

Most of the time - she can't go with us because we have a small car right now and we don't have room... so sometimes I forget how helpful she is in a store....

Today I'm remembering and trying to figure out a way to make her FIT in our too little car.  I'm trying to teach her to respond to (and disrupt) Phillip's hand smacking without us telling her too, I'm trying to remind myself that she's here to help, and that SHE CAN.  I'm trying to remember those days that it seemed like she was the only thing that made us ABLE to go out with Phillip... I'm trying to remember to give credit where credit is due... and that's to LACEY. 

Thank God for sending her to us, and thank Karen, Jeremy, everyone who donated, everyone who helped, everyone who CARES.... for helping us... and if you think of it... help me REMEMBER... because she's SO awesome!!!
